Happiness is knowing that in just 11 short days my Daughter and Grand kids will be here visiting with Gordon and I. Only a Mother whose child has grown, left home, married and had children of their own would understand the joy I have in my heart.
Gordon and I have been working really hard on the house getting things settled since I have moved in officially. Officially, all of my stuff is here now. Problem is, trying to find a spot for it all and combining 2 grown adults belongings into a house that is completely furnished but with all of his stuff. He has been so awesome though. I have moved stuff around in the kitchen, pulled out a set of Bachelors pots and pans, glasses and miscellaneous other stuff. I have tried to keep my needs simple but it just seems to be a lot nicer now that we actually have a set of pots and pans and bake ware to use.
The heat here has been terrible. Our A/C went out and bless Gordon's heart, he comes home from work and relaxes for a few minutes and then goes right out into the garage and works on it some more. He can get it to kick on and then it blows a fuse and kicks off. What has been the worst though is that it has not been cooling down at night. Thank goodness for the whole house fan, that has really saved our bacon. I told Gordon that I was going to go out and fill the hot tub and use it as a pool which would make it a cold tub. He agreed and said that we would just hook it up to 110 amps and that would be enough to run the jets to circulate the chlorine to keep it clean. I don't care, I just want someplace that we can jump into and cool off when it gets so blooming hot you get sweaty drying off when you get out of the shower. Forget trying to blow dry your hair and fixing it.
Senses of humor...oh my gosh. You would think that we are two high schoolers. He is finally learning that it takes a lot to get me going. No matter what he does to try and get my goat, I just either a., ignore him or b., say, "Whatever". I know how much people dislike that word but it works so well! Maybe next time I will try the line from The Devil Wears Prada and say, "That's all!"
It seems hard to me to believe that I have known Gordon for 9 months and have been dating for 3 months seriously. We didn't actually start talking until the end of March but we have been together ever since and it looks good for a future together. We will just take it one day at a time and be happy sharing each and everyday.
